”Pillowcase Smiles Project” - the youth come together monthly to cut and sew flannel pillowcases, package them in gift bags, along with tissue paper, and a cute new teddy bear. Each youth then writes an inspirational card, per bag, attaches to the gift bags, and donates to the Ronald McDonald House Charities in the Falls Church, VA, DC and Richmond Virginia area. Our youth created this project, in 2018, hoping to “Put A Smile” on a child’s face while undergoing treatment.

When a youth completes a pillowcase, the smile, oh the smile, is all that needs to be said. And the fact of knowing they are giving this to another youth, maybe the same age, who is going thru something so traumatic...

Donate a pillowcase to a child! Just $10 provides a pillowcase and a teddy bear, all packaged and ready to ship to the RMHC in Richmond or Fairfax VA. We are always accepting donated fabrics, threads, sewing machines and needles. Please send an email to: traci.ali@tcyouth2017.org for more info.
