Bringing awareness to the youth…”Coping Mechanisms”! Learning how to deal with depression and your emotions. It’s ok not to be ok!!!
We had the pleasure of having Mrs. Andrea Bailey, PWC Supervisor, join us to speak on Mental Health and the importance of reaching the communities on this much needed and avoided topic.
TCYouth Inc. has partnered with other nonprofit organizations like Halo Academy, Inc’s very own Founder and Clinical Therapist, to bring awareness to the communities on mental health in the hopes of breaking the stigma and engaging our youth to understand mental health and that “It’s Ok Not To Be Ok”!!!
TCYouth Inc. has had the privilege of partnering with Vicktory Life, LLC’s very own Founder and Licensed Clinical Therapist, to help spread the word to our youth and especially young men, that “It’s Ok Not To Be Ok”, and seeking help or therapy does NOT make you weak.
As part of our Dynamic Mentorship Program/Mental Health Awareness Project, TCYouth Inc. hosts Annual Youth Retreats to allow the youth to engage in “hands-on” coping skills, all while learning how to love self, building a better you and more. Annual retreats are 3 days/2 nights All Inclusive at a local hotel with event-filled workshops, games, prizes, food and fun.
Writing in Journals…an excellent Coping Mechanism!!
Come out and learn about financial literacy. Understanding your paycheck; completing your employment form; credit scores and how it works; debit card vs credit cards; what’s APR, YTDs, voluntary and involuntary deductions and more!
A floor-size "Real Life Expenditures Budet-O-Poly" Game has been created to teach the youth how to budget while coming across real life circumstances. Debit and credits, emergencies, etc.
Ask question about opening an account, how does it work, what’s the difference between debit cards And credit Cards. How does APR work and what does it mean? What question to ask before opening an account (make sure its the right account for you) And more.
Giving the youth a more interactive and fun way of learning.
WHY JOIN OUR VILLAGE? Being a youth with the TCYouth Village is an awesome membership. We are a village of volunteers who care about the success of the youth and want to see them succeed beyond high school.
We are currently partnered with Stafford and Prince William County Schools to bring a wealth of knowledge, mentorship, leadership training, financial literacy, budgeting, career planning and so much more to the youth. Also partnered with Navy Federal Credit Union to teach our youth about financial literacy.
We prepare the elementary youth for middle school; middle school youth for high school; and high school youth for "Adulthood" whether it's college bound or workforce bound.

Much blessings!
The young ladies were all asked to look into the mirror; write down something they DON'T like about themselves. Then we took that piece of paper and burned it; not bury it because when you bury something it can come back up. They all clapped afterwards.
The young ladies were all provided a spa bag that included flipflops, and everything needed to pamper themselves. They were taught how to make their own lip scrubs and explained the importance of taking care of self. Ms. Kelia Johnson of Euphorik did an amazing job.
THANK YOU MS. JOHNSON!!!
