Traci Ali's dream to establish Tomorrow's Cultivating Youth Inc. (TCYouth Inc.) stemmed from a profound desire to provide the youth with essential life skills and support systems that she herself lacked during her upbringing. Her vision was not just about offering assistance but about creating a nurturing village and safe haven where young people could find guidance and resources without fear of judgment or rejection.
With the support of her close friend Tracey Thomas, Traci embarked on the journey of turning her dream into reality. Together, as Founder and Co-Founder, they both laid the foundation for TCYouth Inc., aiming to address critical areas such as financial literacy, career readiness, college preparation, and mental health awareness. The name itself, "Tomorrow's Cultivating Youth," encapsulates their mission to foster growth and development among the younger generation.
As the organization took shape, Traci and Tracey recognized the importance of assembling a dedicated team who shared their passion for empowering youth. Ariele Monroe, Traci's daughter, joined as Treasurer, while Sharmine Jones and Rolando Brooks came on board as additional board members as 2nd and 3rd Vice Presidents. With this committed team in place, TCYouth Inc. rapidly expanded its reach, by impacting over 200 youth in it's first 2 years of establishment all while enlisting the support of numerous volunteers.
The impact of TCYouth Inc goes beyond just the youth we serve. Tomorrow's Cultivating Youth Inc. also extends our reach to adults through our Adult Advisory Board memberships. These members actively support our youth and the programs we offer through positive leadership. This growth speaks volume about the dedication and village spirit of the organization's members and volunteers.
As TCYouth Inc. continues to evolve and expand, it remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for young people, providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. With each milestone reached, the organization reaffirms its commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation, ensuring that their impact will be felt for years to come. #ItTakesAVillage is their motto and once a youth reaches the age of 18, they are still able to be apart of the TCYouth Inc.'s Village.

Drawing from her own experiences, she understands the importance of addressing mental health issues and providing support to those who may be struggling.
As a mentor and educator, Traci emphasizes the importance of self-love and self-worth, instilling in youth the understanding that it's okay not to be okay and that their feelings are valid. By creating a safe space for open dialogue and promoting mental health awareness, she aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness and encourage individuals to seek help when needed.
One of Traci's key missions is to combat the alarming rate of suicide among youth. Through her advocacy work, she endeavors to raise awareness about the prevalence of mental health issues and the importance of early intervention and support. She recognizes the power of collaboration and seeks to bring together various nonprofits and community organizations to collectively address mental health challenges and reach a broader audience of young people.
By sharing her story, advocating for mental health education, and fostering a supportive community, Traci Ali is making a significant impact in the lives of youth, empowering them to prioritize their mental well-being and seek help when needed. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Sharmine Jones realized that she had a passion for the youth and actively sought to be a volunteer in her community at a young age. Her personal motto was to “Make a Difference”. Always willing to offer a helping hand from Brownies (Girl Scouts) to Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., the importance of giving back to the community has been a resounding passion in Mrs. Jones’s life.
It was with pleasure that Mrs. Jones joined Tomorrow Cultivating Youth as the org motto “It takes a village” accurately reflected Mrs. Jones growing understanding of the socioeconomic changes that many are confronted with. This motto resonated with Mrs. Jones as she once served as an investigator for child abuse and neglect and realized it was the absence of this village (i.e. support system) that allowed some families to fall into disarray. Additionally, with the current school curriculum TCYouth, Inc., stands in the void to offer workshops, tutoring, and assistance that were either no longer offered or was never an option.
Currently Mrs. Jones sits on the Executive Board and serves as the Volunteer Director. She is prior military having serve in the U.S. Coast Guard for twenty years, first as an enlisted member and later as an Officer. Mrs. Jones has a Bachelor of Social Work from Jackson State University and a Masters in Human Services specializing in Social and Community Program from Capella.

Ariele Monroe's journey is one of resilience, compassion, and dedication. Despite facing the significant challenge of her sibling's cancer diagnosis at a young age, she exhibited remarkable strength and maturity, providing unwavering support to her family while excelling in her academic pursuits.
Maintaining an impressive GPA of 3.75, participating in athletics such as track & field and volleyball, showcasing her musical talents as a violinist for over 6 years, and being an active member of the Honor Society demonstrates Ariele's commitment to excellence in all aspects of her life. Despite facing personal challenges, she remained deeply engaged in her community, offering tutoring and support to fellow youth in the organization, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their educational goals.
When her mother, Traci Ali, founded Tomorrow's Cultivating Youth Inc., Ariele knew she wanted to be part of the initiative to give back to her community and uplift other young people. Despite her own academic and personal achievements, Ariele remained grounded and committed to service, volunteering as a board member and treasurer for the organization.
Even as she pursued higher education, receiving scholarships to prestigious universities such as Hampton University and being accepted into institutions like Spelman University and VSU, Ariele continued to prioritize her commitment to TCYouth Inc. Her dedication to giving back and supporting the next generation exemplifies her selflessness and determination to make a positive impact in her community and beyond.
Kelia Johnson initially joined TCY simply to volunteer. She quickly became very involved and not only assisted during charitable events, but participated in the growth of the organization by leading presentations and bringing new ideas to the workshops curated for our youth. After she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in Public Health with a Health Science concentration and minoring in Biology, Kelia joined TCY as an official Board Member and eagerly stepped into the rigorous role as TCY's sole Fundraising Chair. Kelia's involvement in this organization stems from a personal level of appreciation. She also acknowledges a childhood longing for the same safe, proactive, and supportive environment that TCY currently provides to our community's youth. She often talks about how much she would have benefitted from a program like ours during her adolescence and is happy to aid in impacting lives and creating advantages she never had growing up in the very communities we serve. Kelia is actively looking forward to the full circle moment of seeing youth members through their adolescence and one day working side-by-side with them as we continue the cycle of steering our community to even greater successes than what we had during our young and influential phases of life them reach their goals.
